Week 1 Recap

If there were one word we would all agree upon to describe the first week of renovation, it would most likely be "wow".  It easily describes the pace of which our team has moved on removal, shaping, drainage, sand installation and the beginning of sod work.  Reactions to the work has been overwhelmingly positive and the questions about the process have been great.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and for me that might be ten thousand, so instead of writing, I'll let the following pictures show what happened over the last week.

have a chance to kick onto the green.

has been installed since this photo was taken.

Apparently funds were tight the last time
bunkers were renovated.  This end cap did
keep the pipe clean however!
Areas where bunkers are being constructed or existing bunkers that are being renovated have had the sod stripped on 12, 13, 15 and 17.  Bunkers on 13 have been shaped, but have not been approved for further work yet.  The right green side bunkers on 12 were started and for the remainder of this week shaping will continue on 12, 15 and 17.  Temporary pins will be utilized on these holes as Bruce and Kye make their way around.  The first loads of sod will be laid this week as bunkers receive final approval.  Look for the mounds around 5 green to be removed as well as those bunkers being shaped.

For as much progress as we made this week, I am anticipating an even quicker pace with both shapers being on site shaping for 3 days each week.  We will start flopping sod on 14 to connect the green to fairway with an approach.  Tree removals will continue as needed to make way for bunkers, sight lines and improved agronomic conditions.

Thankfully the weather has been working in our favor and we will continue to take advantage knowing it can change quickly this time of year.  Keep coming out to see the progress and stop by with any questions you may have.

Surprise visits are always fun, but quickly realized a bigger
cart may be in order to accommodate our newest addition,
