Bruce Hepner, Golf Course Architect
Last fall, the Wisconsin Club selected and hired a highly reputable Golf Course Architect named Bruce Hepner to develop a Master Plan for the the golf course at the Country Club. Having Bruce on board will help direct us to make improvements to the course which will create a true golfing experience and improve playing conditions to be more consistent on a regular basis. What lies ahead for the course? It boils down to bunker renovations and additions, mowing lines, tees, further tree work, a completely renovated driving range and new irrigation system.
Bruce started his golf architecture career working for Ron Forse and then started working with Tom Doak in 1994 before venturing out on his own a few years ago. He implements a minimalist approach to his work by only adding features to the course where the land allows. This allows for a natural looking golf course with minimized construction costs. One very unique talent Bruce has is his ability to operate construction equipment to shape features around the course to his liking. He was taught to operate equipment while working for Doak and will allow for complete control over quality while working on our project. This will also speed up construction and ultimately lighten the load of our bottom line. For further reading about Bruce, click here.
With out a doubt, we are very excited for what lies ahead for the Wisconsin Club. While the course is good as is, we are confident Bruce's vision will take us to another level and cement our place as a true golf experience of which our Members will be even more proud.
