Final(ly, a) Renovation Update...

It was incredible how quickly the project came to an end and just in time for what ended up being a colder November than December.  We were plugging right along taking care of project after project and then... The work just ended.  Mostly because of our contractor's fast pace, but the weather turned and frost started working it's way into the earth.  Finishing ahead of schedule (with some added work) and under budget (including the extra work) is the perfect finishing touch.  I could not be happier with the results and the efforts put forth by everyone on our renovation team.  A large thank you is owed to our Architect, Bruce Hepner, Shaper Kye Goalby, our Contractor MacCurrach Golf and their incredible staff, and my staff for stepping up to the plate time and time again.

Here are some photos from the last couple of weeks of work in November:

Hole 2, Par 4
The collar and approach expansion with the new approach
bunker will add plenty of shot interest around the green.
Hole 7, Par 4
The new championship tee will bring the new fairway bunkers
into play.  The two large trees left of the fairway and the first
tree to the right of the blue tee will be removed to open up an
otherwise tight tee shot.

Hole 13, Par 4
All mounds around the green have been leveled to help blend
this hole with the others.  The rock wall and berm behind
the cart path has also been removed and will be seeded to fine
fescue this spring.

Hole 17, Par 4

The much anticipated championship tee on 17 was built into the
berm and will have a forced carry of 185 yards to clear the water.

A new forward tee on 17 will still have a carry over water,
but at 40 yards, should not be too challenging.

Hole 18, Par 5

A new forward tee on 18 was also added for a shorter carry
of 35 yards over the water hazard.
The Turn

Part of the added work this fall was converting the grass between the putting green, nine green and The Turn to fairway.  A patio expansion was added to The Turn for additional seating and a completed look to this popular post round spot.  Golfers making the turn from the 9th green to the 10th tee will have to drive around the putting green since the existing cart path was removed between the two greens.

I hope your Holiday Season has been allowed for some rest and relaxation and plenty of time with family and friends.  Wishing you much happiness and good health in the New Year!
