Renovation: Weeks 6 and 7

It is official we have had luck on our side for this renovation with nearly perfect project weather and a dedicated team who is a couple weeks ahead of schedule.  By the end of the weekend all bunkers will have been shaped, drained, sanded and sodded.  It was a remarkable pace set and maintained by our contractor MacCurrach Golf.  Some of their staff has already headed back to Florida to start the next projects they have on the docket.

My staff has maintained their pace as well and are doing an excellent job jumping from one project to another working on grassing lines, irrigation, and tree removals.  We have also had our leaf cleanup crew busy and they are well beyond the halfway point of this daunting annual task.

Bruce's transformation of the course continues to impress and views that once were left unnoticed have now become more surprising.  This will get even better next spring when the course opens.  Bruce will be back for one or two more walk throughs to make sure the punch list is taken care of.  As for now here are the highlights from the past couple weeks.

Hole 6, Par 4

A couple new tees will make life better for our Lady Members
and more challenging for those that dare.
Hole 9, Par 4

This hole is easily a candidate for Most Improved.  I cannot
wait until everything has grown in and matured.
Hole 10, Par 4

The new tee here will host the blue tee markers.

Hole 11, Par 3

The biggest change here is the addition of expanded collars.
Maybe some day there will be a pin position available
far back right!

Hole 13, Par 4

The mounds around this green have all been removed.  The
look is much simpler and helps blend this hole in with the others.

The irrigation lines had to be lowered from mound removal.
The guys did an excellent job with the work.
Hole 16, Par 3

Its hard to believe this is the same hole.  The collar has been
expanded around the whole green and looks fantastic.
Trees around green were removed three years ago.
Hole 18, Par 5

These new fairway bunkers will demand accuracy on the
second shot.

A new collar expansion behind the green looks great.
